Game Overview
Mojo Melee is an autobattler game developed by Mystic Moose built on the Polygon blockchain. As the first game in the Planet Mojo gaming metaverse, Mojo Melee sets the stage for a thrilling journey through interconnected gaming experiences. Engage in real-time battles, manage your resources, and strategize your units’ positions in order to defeat your enemies.The game can be played on both PC browsers and Android devices.
Gameplay
The game challenges players to strategically build their own team using a limited amount of Gold. At the start of the game, you will be asked to choose 1 Mojo for your team, and a limited number of units are unlocked as rewards. You can unlock more units as you earn more trophies. From these units, you can build a team of 1 Mojo, 4 Champions, and 2 SpellStones to bring into the arena.
Units: Mojos, Champions, SpellStones
Let's explore these 3 types of units to learn more about what they are.
Mojos
Mojos are “plant-based magical creatures sprouted from Moj-Seeds.” They are playable NFTs that can be used in both Mojo Melee and Mojo Land. In Mojo Melee, each type of Mojo has its own abilities and synergies with different kinds of spells.
Vine Mojo
This Mojo can provide armor to all allies through its ability, Thorn Armor, and can also deal damage to adjacent enemies based on the amount of armor these allies have.
Flower Mojo
This Mojo can daze its enemies through its ability called Petal Dance. Additionally, it increases the attack speed of its allies
Leaf Mojo
This Mojo uses an ability called Healing Sunlight that heals itself and all allies within range.
Moss Mojo
This Mojo's ability, called Swamp Trap, has an effect that removes 50% of the opponent's max energy and stuns them. Allies also gain a percentage of their maximum energy.
Champions
Champions are warriors with unique abilities and belong to different clans. Let’s take a look at the Champions that are currently available in the game.
Brooka Clawhaven
From the Clan of Clawhaven, who are ready to fight to the death to protect their own. With his stern battle axe and an ability called 'Roar,' all enemies within range are left dazed.
Zerlin the Lesser
A champion from the Clan of Primadora, sworn to protect the collective wisdom of the planets. Their ability, Shell Blessing, makes them invulnerable while halting their movement and attacks. Additionally, their allies gain armor
Sumatra Stronghorn
They are the last remaining survivors of the Clan of Stronghorn, wielding a magical horn and a skill called 'Charge' that can knock back enemies until they hit another unit or a wall.
Batakamus Rex
A hippo berserker from the Clan of Supremus wields a weapon and an ability called 'Chomp.' This ability allows them to pull the enemy that is farthest away from them while dealing damage to the target. Additionally, they can gain health equal to the amount of health the target loses.
Dark Brightley
One of the richest and most powerful dynasties on Planet Mojo is from the Clan of Furgen, known for their bow and skill called 'Splinter Arrow,' which deals damage to enemies.
Deth Kolo
This clan is for those who have no clan; they are mercenaries from the Clan of Kolo. Their ability, 'Impale,' deals damage to target enemies while also stunning them.
Gwyn Rockhopper
An outcast that does not seem to fit in on the battlefield, With her mystical spells of artic dark magic and skill called curse that lose enemies energy
Froda Swamphag
Hidden within the sticky shadows of the southern swamps is Clan Kroker, a tribe of witches, shamans, and mystics who were gifted the Aura by Myzzo, the god-frog itself. They possess an ability called 'Call of Tadpoles,' which teleports them behind their allies with the lowest health to provide healing
General Dox
From the Clan of Ivorium, she knew she had only one last chance to show the planet what she was made of. Their skill, 'Shield Bash,' provides armor to herself while dealing damage to enemies equal to the amount of her armor.
Dawn Striker
As Clan Champion, Dawn can leap great distances and pounce on escaping enemies. Her retractable steel claws can hook onto victims and yank them into her razor sharp maw.
Krumble Gravelstache
In the rocky plains of the Tomari Lowlands, Clan Mustel mines and extracts precious metals, gems, and crystals with magical properties. Their ability provides full energy while dealing damage to your enemies.
Veren Mostelier
A clan leader settled in the great swamps of Nari Nari, from the Clan of Umbran and an ageless creator of venom and poison. They possess an ability called 'Poison Ability' that can poison enemies in range and reduce their attack speed.
Haile Tibeb
A descendant of the Crystal Spirit from the Clan of Vigil who can harness great magic. Their spell, 'Mark Enemy,' causes the target to taunt its team and take more damage while marked."
SpellStones
SpellStones are magical items used by Mojos to channel their powers. Some SpellStones are strategically placed on tiles, either on your side or your opponent's side, and they activate at the beginning of each round
Flower Power
Attach to an ally, their basic attack deals more 8 / 16 / 24 damage
Meteorite
Place on the enemy side of the arena. Deal 135 / 242 / 437 Damage to all enemies in range of the SpellStone at the start of the battle.
Lightning Retribution
Attach to an ally. When that ally is damaged for the first time. Deal 125 /225 / 325 Damage to the enemy that damaged them.
Mojo Portal
Attach to an ally. Attached ally teleports to the far side of the arena at the start of battle and gains 53% / 75% / 95% of their max energy.
Vine Patch
Place on the enemy side of the arena. Enemies in range 1 are Stunned for 3/4/5 seconds and take 50 / 100 / 150 Damage.
Mojosynthesis
Place on your side of the arena. All allies within the range of the SpellStone gains 40% / 60% / 80% of their Max Energy at the start of the battle.
Ancient's Bounty
Attach to an ally. When that ally defeats an enemy the gain 2/3/4 Gold when an enemy is defeated.
Second Chance
Attach to an ally. When that ally would be defeated for the first time instead it is healed for 40% / 60% / 80% of its total health
Silencing Stone
Place on enemy side of the arena. Enemies in range stop gaining energy and can't use their special ability for 4 / 8 / 12 seconds
Acid Rain
Place on enemy side of the arena. Enemies in range of the stone are poisoned for 5 / 9 / 13 seconds. A poison enemy has its attack speed reduced by 50% and are dealt 10 damage a second
Haste
Attach to an ally, increase their attack speed by 10% / 20% / 30%
Chaos
Attach to an ally, their basic attack gains 10% / 15% / 25% chance to cause a 2 second Daze
Matches and Rounds
Matches consist of rounds with two phases: Preparation and Battle.
Preparation Phase
In this phase, players use limited Gold to buy, sell, and upgrade units on the arena, and strategically position their chosen units on their side of the board.
Battle Phase
Units fight it out until only one remains, securing victory for the controlling player.
Game Modes
Currently, the game features three game modes: Duel Mode, Melee, and Practice
Duel
Duel Mode for intense best-of-five battles against a single opponent.
Melee
Melee for fast-paced, one-round duels against multiple opponents with different team combinations.
Practice
Practice for testing your combination, combo, and units in order to refine your strategy and improve gameplay.
Getting Started
In order to play the game, you’ll need a MetaMask wallet and a Planet Mojo account. Upon signing up, you will be asked to connect your MetaMask wallet to your account. Since the game is free-to-play, and you do not need to buy NFTs or pay in order to start playing.
The game is playable on your PC browser, so all you have to do is wait for it to load and start climbing the leaderboards!
