Game Story and Setting

SHRAPNEL takes place in a dystopian future where a massive asteroid, 38 Sigma, collides with the moon. The debris creates a 500-kilometer-wide Sacrifice Zone (The Zone) on Earth, walled off from civilization. Inside The Zone, a mysterious material called Compound Sigma unlocks quantum mechanics behaviors in classical physics, leading to fierce competition for its control.

Players take on the role of Operators in Mercenary Extraction Forces (MEFs), battling rival factions and paramilitary teams to extract resources and uncover secrets within The Zone. Corporations like VELDACHA CORP dominate this high-stakes battleground, making survival and strategy key to success.

Gameplay Overview
