Cantina Royale is an action-packed, top-down battle royale shooter that features blockchain innovations. The game is free to play and features PvP & PvE modes.
Cantina Royale is a battle royale shooter game
The game has both free-to-play and play-to-earn components. You will only be able to earn if you play using an NFT character. However, players without NFTs will still get a chance to earn by reaching a certain level of Career Points in order to borrow an NFT.

Cantina Royale has several game modes. For PVP, there are Free For All, 1vs1 Match, Team Deathmatch, Team Objective, and Battle Royale. Meanwhile, the PVE version is a mission-based game mode.
As of writing, only the Free For All PVP mode is available.

In 1v1, every move counts to stay three steps ahead of your opponent and survive.

In Team Objective, 8 players team up to achieve a specific set of objectives and finish the goal before the other teams.

For this multiplayer game mode, the arena can host up to 50 players battling it out. The goal is to be the last ape standing as this offers plenty of rewards for high-level players.

In Player vs. Environment, players can either play alone or ally themselves with others and co-op in order to fulfill the increasingly difficult missions. Here, players can raid for treasure while fending off enemies, bandits, and bots. Options include Single Player Missions, Co-Op Missions, Single Player Wave Attack, and Co-Op Wave Attack.

In order to play the game, you will need a character. In Cantina Royale, there are free characters and NFT characters. Whatever you use will determine the rewards you will earn. Every character has their own Stats, Power, and Rarity. Let’s talk about the free characters first.

1. Vitality: For max health and health regen rate 2. Character Level
As your character’s level increases, you’ll be able to earn more as you play, and your stats, damage bonus, and power will increase. Corran Diruno, the free-to-play character you get at the start, can level up until level 50. NFT characters can level up until 100.
How do you level up your character?
You need to have the required amount of XP, and you need to spend Training Chips and Shards.

Borrow an NFT Character
Borrowing an NFT character lets you earn Royale Trophies and Crowns in the Free For All game mode without having to buy your own NFT. You can borrow an NFT character once you reach 75 Career Points. Borrowed characters last for 24 hours. The borrower’s earnings are split between the lender and the borrower.

What is it for?
Character XP is used to level up your character. The more you level up, the more rewards you can earn, and the higher your character’s stats become.
How do you earn it?
Characters gain XP every time they complete a match. How much XP your character will earn depends on your performance during the match, such as kill streaks, K/D ratio, and your final rank. There is no limit on how much XP you can earn in a day.

Shards
Shards are the main currency in the Cantina Royale universe.
What are they for?
You can use Shards to level up your character (to increase their stats) and buy items from the Store (e.g. Booster Box, Training Chip).
How do you earn them?
You gain Shards by playing the game—the number of Shards you get will depend on your rank at the end of each game, as well as your character’s rarity and level. If you are playing with an active contract, you will get more Shards compared to playing without a contract. You can also get Shards from Bounty Boxes. Finally, you can buy more Shards from the Store using Crowns.
What are they for?
Crowns are highly valuable and are used to purchase rare items.
How do you earn them?
You can earn Crowns in the Free For All game mode by using an NFT character as you play, whether you own the NFT or you borrowed it. You can also get more Crowns by purchasing them (1 $CRT = 100 Crowns), and by staking your NFT in the Lending Platform.

What are they for?
Bounty Contracts are the “energy” system of the game. As long as you have an active Bounty Contract, you can earn Bounty Trophies and more rewards! If you are playing using an NFT, you can even get Royale Bounty Trophies and $CRT!
If you play the Free For All game mode with a Bounty Contract, each match can reward you with 3-10 Bounty Trophies depending on your in-game performance (Kills/Deaths/Assists ratio). However, if you run out of Bounty Contracts, you can only earn Shards and character XP.
How do you earn them?
You get a maximum of 5 Bounty Contracts at a time, and these are replenished every 90 minutes.

What are they for?
Bounty Trophies are required to unlock Bounty Boxes. Bounty Boxes contain Shards, Career Points, Training Chips, sometimes rare items.
How do you earn them?
You can earn Bounty Trophies by playing with active Bounty Contracts. In the Free For All game mode, you can earn 3-10 Bounty Trophies per game depending on your in-game performance (Kills/Deaths/Assists ratio).
Once you have enough Bounty Trophies, you will be able to unlock Bounty Boxes.

What are they for?
Royale Bounty Trophies are required to unlock Royale Bounty Boxes. Royale Bounty Boxes are just like Bounty Boxes, but they contain more rewards and tradeable items.
How do you earn them?
Royale Bounty Trophies can only be gained by players who are playing with an NFT character, whether owned or borrowed. You will need Royale Bounty Contracts in order to gain Royale Bounty Trophies.

What are they for?
Career Points are collected in order to unlock new content and rewards. Whenever you reach a certain number of Career Points, you can get items like Contract Books, Weapons, Emotes, Boosters, Training Chips, and even new characters!
How do you earn them?
You can get Career Points by unlocking Bounty Boxes which you can earn as you keep playing.

How do you get them?
You can get Training Chips from Bounty Boxes and Royale Bounty Boxes. You can also get them as you earn more Career Points (e.g. you will get 5 Training Chips at 10 Career Points, and 20 Training Chips at 700 Career Points).

What are they for?
Boosters are in-game items that give you advantage by increasing one of your stats.
How do you get them?
You can get Booster Boxes containing Boosters by advancing your Career Points, opening Bounty Boxes, or buying a Booster Box from the Store (cost: 1000 Shards).
How do you use a Booster?
Click the plus sign at the bottom right of the screen under Active Boosters. Your Inventory will open where you can click on the Booster you want to equip. Once you’ve chosen, click the “Activate” button. Afterwards, the Booster should show up on your home screen. A Booster item is only active for 5 matches.

These are tradable and nontradable in-game items. Some of these can be unlocked by reaching a certain number of Career Points. Aside from Bounty Boxes, Training Chips, and Booster Boxes, here are some other items that can help you win the games:

The in-game controls follow the standard PC gaming control scheme commonly found in arcade shooting games.
The WASD keys are the main movement keys, with W being used to move upward, A to move left, S to move downward, and D to move right. To look around and aim, use the mouse. Shift key makes your sprint while Space lets your character jump forward to dodge bullets and projectiles.
To shoot, you can use the left mouse button. The right mouse button lets you perform melee attacks with a knife. Reload uses the R key and switching between primary and secondary weapons can be done through keys 1 and 2.
