In Pirate Nation, ships are more than just a means of transportation; they are vital tools that determine your success on the open seas. Every pirate needs a ship, but choosing the right one can make all the difference.
Pirate Nation offers a variety of ships, each with unique attributes to suit different playstyles. Some ships are built for speed, making them ideal for quick escapes, while others are battle-ready, equipped to take on the toughest enemies.
Don’t worry if you’re just starting out—the game guides you through crafting your first ship, the Pirate’s Skiff, ensuring you’re not left stranded on your first voyage.
Types of Pirate Nation Ships#Copy URL to this article section
As you progress in Pirate Nation, you’ll discover that there are eight distinct types of ships, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a quick rundown of the ships currently available in the game:
Pirate's Skiff: A reliable vessel that gets you started; however, it cannot be traded.
Pirate's Sloop: An agile ship that prioritizes speed over firepower, ideal for quick missions.
Pirate's Galleon: Strong and sturdy, a must-have for any serious pirate fleet.
Pirate's Frigate: The powerhouse of the sea, essential for dominating in combat.
Overworld Galleon: A versatile ship perfect for those who want a well-rounded gaming experience.
Rogue's Galleon: An exclusive, enhanced version of the Galleon, with only 90 in existence—truly a collector’s item.
Mark's Frigate: A slow but mighty ship, packing a serious punch in battles.
Broseph Frigate: The ultimate party barge, ensuring fun and adventure on every voyage.
Remember, each ship can be equipped with various items that unlock new abilities and improve your combat effectiveness. However, choose wisely, once an item is attached to a ship, it can’t be removed, so plan ahead to avoid wasting valuable resources.
Different ships have different perks, choose wisely!
Upgrading Your Ship in Pirate Nation: The Shipwright#Copy URL to this article section
In Pirate Nation, upgrading your ship is just as important as choosing the right one. This is where the Shipwright comes into play. By building a Shipwright on your island, you can upgrade your ships, merge similar ships to create stronger versions, and repair damaged vessels (once that feature is available).
Ship Merging and Upgrading: Combine two identical ships and a ship upgrade plan using Pirate Gold to create a more powerful vessel.
Ship Repairs: Although not yet available, future updates will allow you to repair your ships at the Shipwright.
Generate Income: Turn your Shipwright into a business by making it public. When other players use it for upgrades, you’ll earn 25% of all Pirate Gold spent, a lucrative way to boost your in-game economy.

Craft a shipwright in Pirate Nation to upgrade your ships!
Getting new ships in Pirate Nation often involves crafting. You’ll start your journey with the Pirate’s Skiff, but as you complete quests and gather materials, you can upgrade to more formidable ships like the Pirate’s Sloop, Frigate, or Galleon.
To craft a ship, head over to the crafting menu and select the ship you want to build. For example, to craft the Pirate’s Sloop, you’ll need materials such as cotton sails, wooden helms, and iron sights, along with a completed ship plan.
While the Pirate’s Sloop is a solid choice for beginners, we recommend aiming for a Frigate or Galleon as you progress. Completing quests like ‘What the Frigate?’ will reward you with ship plans, bringing you closer to crafting your ideal ship.
