In Axie Infinity: Origin, there are two kinds of Axies: Starter Axies and Personal Axies.
Starter Axies are non-NFT Axies that you can get as rewards when you play the Adventure Mode.
Personal Axies are NFTs that you can either buy from the Axie Infinity Marketplace or borrow through a scholarship program. The rewards you can earn in this game will depend on how many Personal and Starter Axies you use to play.

There are 9 Classes of Axies: 6 Normal Classes (i.e. Beast, Bug, Plant, Reptile, Bird and Aqua) and 3 Secret Classes (i.e. Mech, Dusk, Dawn).
The Secret Classes are produced when 2 pure Axies from the Normal Classes are bred with each other (i.e. Beast + Bug = Mech, Plant + Reptile = Dusk, Bird + Aqua = Dawn).

Aside from determining its offspring, an Axie’s Class plays a part determining the Runes and Charms that it can use during Battle.
