Parallel is an exciting sci-fi trading card game developed by Parallel Studios that operates on the Ethereum blockchain. Immerse yourself in a world of augmented reality and parallel universes, where the game explores themes of interstellar travel, a world in crisis, and the unification of diverse individuals.
In Parallel, players collect cards and construct decks representing one of the five distinct Parallels. Engage in thrilling matches against fellow players across various game modes as you embark on a journey through the interconnected dimensions of Parallel. The game is available on Windows and macOS devices.
Gameplay
Parallel offers a deep and strategic gaming experience within its card-based universe. Each match in Parallel is a one-on-one battle between two players, and the gameplay unfolds in a turn-based fashion. Players take turns to strategically play cards from their hands, unleashing powerful Effects, summoning Units to bolster their forces, harnessing passive influences with Relics, and equipping Units with formidable Upgrades.
In the game, each player aligns with one of the Parallels, each conferring unique cards and abilities. At the start of a match, both players have 30 Health, and the goal is to reduce the opponent's Health to zero, claiming victory.
Battle Mechanics
The game begins with the random selection of the starting player, and each player is dealt five random cards from their deck. They have the option to exchange some of these cards in a Mulligan phase, shaping their initial hand.
Energy is a valuable resource used to play cards, muster Units, activate Effects, play Relics, and equip Upgrades. Combat takes place on the Field, with newly placed Units experiencing Fatigue on their first turn.
The match concludes when a player's Health Points reach or fall below zero, resulting in a win for the remaining player. If both players' Health reaches zero simultaneously, the game ends in a draw. Alternatively, a player can choose to concede or forfeit the match when they realize they cannot avoid defeat.
Game Modes
The Parallel offers 3 main game modes to cater to players of different skill levels and preferences:
Rookie Mode This mode is perfect for beginners to learn and get accustomed to the game mechanics. Each parallel has its own starter deck, and you need to defeat each parallel to unlock various rewards. To fully unlock all rewards, you must defeat each parallel 5 times.
Quick Play Quick Play mode provides more versatile options for players to enjoy Parallel battles:
Ranked: Climb the ranks to claim tiered rewards at the end of each season.
Unranked: Play casual, unranked matches against other players.
VS AI: Hone your skills and experiment with your decks by battling against AI opponents.
Private: Challenge your friends to exciting matches of Parallel.
Tournament Players can compete against each other, showcasing their skills and aiming to win awesome prizes. By joining the tournament, they can test their abilities, climb the leaderboards, and earn exclusive rewards.
Card Types
In Parallel, there are four distinct card types that play pivotal roles in your quest to reduce your opponent's health to zero and emerge victorious in the game:
Units: These cards represent a diverse array of creatures, constructs, and beings, all capable of occupying the game board and engaging in epic science fiction battles. Prepare to unleash these formidable entities and lead them into the heat of battle.
Relics: Relics are non-combat permanents that occupy the board and wield a wide range of effects. Whether these effects are persistent, activated at will, or temporary in nature, the true extent of their capabilities remains shrouded in mystery.
Effects: Effects are one-time spells that perform a specific action and are subsequently expended. These cards allow you to execute a singular, impactful maneuver to influence the course of the game.
Upgrades: Upgrades are persistent enhancements, buffs, or other effects that attach to a unit already present on the battlefield. These augmentations can dramatically alter the capabilities of your units, granting them unique advantages and additional power.

In Parallel, players have the opportunity to engage with the five distinctive Parallels, each offering a unique play style and narrative background:
The Earthen: Those who remained on Earth after The Priming transformed the planet into a lush and verdant paradise through the mysterious Miasma.
The Marcolian: These pioneers turned their attention to Mars, forging a militaristic, prideful, and opportunistic society driven by rapid technological innovation.
The Kathari: Seeking refuge on Europa, the Kathari faced severe radiation during their exodus from Earth. To sustain their population, they turned to cloning technology.
The Augencore: Hailing from the resource-rich asteroids of the solar system, the Augencore have embraced heavy mechanical modifications.
The Shroud: A group of colonists turned devout followers of a cosmic being known as The Great One, the Shroud interpret and follow the enigmatic bidding of the Entity.
